He was also active in Egypt where he was imprisoned for his membership of Hizb ut-Tahrir. Maajid resigned from Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2007. He is the Director of the Quilliam Foundation. Dawud Masieh was a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir and editor of their international English-language publications. Dawud resigned from Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2007.
